Lukie Lee Ealey, son of Annie Lou Ealey and Luther Childrey, was born December 14, 1953, in Montgomery, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister (Annie Murry Grace McCall), and brothers (Bill, Daniel, and Cleveland Childrey).

Following the passing of his mother, Lukie relocated to Inkster, Michigan. A naturally gifted athlete, Lukie immediately became a local star. While in high school, he was a formidable force in basketball and track and field. In 1973, Lukie graduated from Robichaud High School. In 1990, Lukie joined the Nation of Islam and served as a minister at the local Denver Mosque #51 for 1 year. He went on to establish a chapter of C.R.O.E (Coalition for the Remembrance of Elijah Muhammed) in Denver, which he led as minister during the late 1990s. In February 2017, he was honored and inducted into the 3rd Annual Robichaud Athletic Hall of Fame ‘Class of 2017’ for his amazing achievements and athletic contributions.
