Obituary for Edna E. Motley

Edna Earlene Motley was born on December 2, 1925, in Denver, Colorado. She was the first child to Earl and Dora Bolden. She was educated in Denver and graduated from Manuel High School.
After graduation, she began working for the family business, Bolden Barbecue, and continued to work there for many years.
In 1960, she met Thomas Latham Motley and they soon wed. From this union came a daughter, an only child, Sojna Louise Motley. Soon after her birth they began to travel, and live all over the United States, as well as abroad. After several years of living in multiple states and many countries, Thomas "TL" Motley retired from the Army and Edna, TL, and Sojna moved back to Denver. Edna, returning home, and a return to her roots, joined the church where her parents were members, Faithfully, the Church of God in Christ.
She enjoyed cooking, had a beautiful vegetable garden, and for a short time worked as a bookkeeper at the Aurora National Bank. In her spare time she did catering.
Edna was a wonderfully gifted cook, a mother without measure, and a faithful, loving wife. Edna knew the art of family.
Edna passed away peacefully on August 17, 2018. She leaves behind a wealth of family and friends to cherish her memory.
Family includes her daughter, Sojna Motley; two brothers, Nathan Matthew Bolden (Carlissa), and Edsel Elias Bolden (Gwendolyn); and sister, Juanita Johnson (Henry). Preceding her in death is her husband, Thomas Latham Motley, brother Johnny Alonzo Bolden, and sisters Ada Marie Hunn and Yvonne Candice Bolden Glover. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; all very beloved.
