Obituary for Alice Lafaye Washington-Givens

The sun rose for Alice Lafaye Washington Givens when she was born to George Washington who preceded her in death and Bernice Moore Washington in Austin Texas on February 20th 1949. Alice was one of Bernice’s 7 children born into this loving family. Alice spent a great majority of her life with her family in Colorado where she grew up with her step Father Fred mason sr. who preceded her in death and her mother bernice mason, her brothers Michale Mason, Harold Mason, robert Mason, fred Mason jr, and Spencer Givens, her sisters Sarah Washignton , carla Mason, debbie Givens, and vicki Mason. Alice came from a large family on both sides with a host of half siblings on her father's side in her hometown of austin texas whom she loved dearly. Alice was a family women she always made sure to take family trips back home with her grandchildren when they were younger. When she was younger alice was always into fashion she was a trend setter, and could fix a car better than any man. Alice received her formal education in Denver public schools. She attended manual high school though she didn't graduate at the time. Later in life through encouragement of her eldest grandson tyrone alice got her G.E.D from the community college of denver where she continued her studies in business management for their associates program. Alice spent many years as a shuttle bus driver for travelogue.

Alice Lafaye Married her highschool sweetheart Robert Earl Givens who preceded her in death. She had three beautiful children Her eldest being her daughter Timisha Renette Givens of Denver Colorado, Two boys her middle child Tyrone Robert Givens and her youngest and baby boy Darryl Lee Givens Sr. whom both preceded her in death. Alice had a deep bond with her daughter in-law Tee moore whom she loved like her own. Alice was a church going women who emblimented her faith in not only her children but also her 6 grandchildren Tyrone Richardson, Johntay Jones, Jahnice Jones, Darryl Givens Jr. Datrell Givens, Tayone Givens and 5 great grandchildren Xavier Richardson, Samiyah Richardson, Dassiah Givens, Zai’ayre Givens Zemarre Givens. Whom all love her and will miss her dearly but will continue on together.

Alice made sure she made christ and the church apart of her family's upbring, alice herself was a long time member of union baptist church of denver, CO where she attended with her mother and family. She always made sure to implement herself into the church community and activities she did it all. Bible study, choir,and food bank anything that she could do to help the church she would. In her later years she became a member of peaceful rest baptist church where she was a member until her passing she really enjoyed the fellowship at her church home and looked at everyone as her family. If you knew alice you knew that her faith came first.

The sunset for Alice Lafaye Washington Givens on June 16th 2019. Alice has a lot of friends and family left to chairs her memory that including Her mother, sisters Carla, Sarah, Debbie, Vicki, and brothers Micahle, Spencer, and Fred Jr. her nephew Tracy who was more like her brother. Her daughters Timisha and Tee her grandchildren Tyrone, Johntay, Jahnice, Darryl, Datrell, Tayone, 5 great grandchildren, A host of half siblings and nieces nephews cousins and family friends. Who all loved her and will miss her dearly.
