Obituary for Elisah Toledo

Elijah “Patchez” Toledo’s life story began on August 4, 1995 in Aurora, CO. He was the eldest of eight children born to Olga Toledo and the eldest of four born to John “Jay Jay” Gutierrez.
Elijah was hospitalized from the age 2-9 due to his tough battle with cancer. Elijah received his education at Mitchell Elementary and Gilpin K-8 where he found his best friends; Elijah Padilla, Josh Iazalde and Anthony Soto, he then continued his education at Manual High School.
Elijah had a rough time in high school, dealing with his best friend passing, the cancer reacurring and many other things that came his way.
Because of his fight with cancer, he was unable to participate in extracurricular activities, but it never killed his spirit. Instead he decided to get a full time job to keep himself busy and support his family. Elijah was always caught smiling and made it his mission to keep his friends and family smiling and laughing as well. Except for when he had a smart remark and his mom had to remind him not to mess with Olga Toledo.
Elijah’s mother was a very important piece to who he was. He loved her more than words could describe and he showed her every day.
Elijah was like a father figure to his siblings. There wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t have done for them. He loved the kids just like his mother, and grew such a strong love for Mekeda Rodgers that he made her his daughter and cared for her just like his very own.

Elijah departed this life on April 19, 2018 and reunited with his brother, Christian Cacho, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Olga Toledo and John Guttierez; brothers, Jadon, Eside, Cinsere and Lorenzo; those that became family in his journey, Abl, Shadow andLee; sisters, Jayla, Ciniyah, Idania, Bernice, Mariah Benancia and Jay; his grandparents, Rebecca Perez and John Valverde; aunts, Marisol, Leticia, Isabel, Susana and Selena; uncles, Francisco, David, Ray, Toby and Chico; cousins, Cory, Marco, Brandon, Memo, Selena and a host of other relatives and friends.
