Obituary for Bobbie Osborne

Mrs. Bobbie Ray Osborne was born in Troup, Texas to the union of Murphy and Luberta Ray. She was the third of five children and the only daughter. Bobbie fell in love with Denver, Colorado after visiting her cousin, Eva Ray Allen. She married Garland A. Osborne in 1992; they share four adult children and four grandsons.

Miss Bobbie, as she was affectionately known, grew up in East Texas and graduated from Stanton High School in Bullard, Texas. She was a member of the award winning quartet at the Interscholastic League held at Prairie View College. Bobbie enrolled at Texas College where she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Bobbie taught Home Economics at Lincoln High School in San Augustine, Texas for three years before settling in Denver, Colorado. She received her Master's Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Her first assignment was with Denver Public Schools at Whittier Elementary School. Bobbie taught first grade, and individualized instruction in the Diagnostic Program. She retired after thirty-two years of service.

The soft spoken, elegant and always impeccably dress Mrs. Bobbie Osborne joined Peaceful Rest Baptist Church in 1994 and was a member of the Mother's Board.

Bobbie accompanied her mother to Fort Worth, Texas to attend the Grand Lodge; she always looked forward to this annual event. She became a member of Evergreen Chapter #3 Order of the Eastern Star in 1995 and the Daughter of Isis in 1996 where she was immediately appointed by Viola Garlington, Illustrious Commandress, to chair the Community Involvement Committee.
Under Daughter Osborne's leadership, the Community Involvement Committee became partners with Children's Hospital and annually donated to the "Hat Tree". The committee united with Mitchell Elementary School to contribute school supplies and uniforms for students. They also donated to the Anchor Center for Blind Children. The committee providing assistance to Orlando's Way, a residence facility for those infected with AIDS by giving can goods and clothing articles. The Committee took part in the Annual AIDS Walk, and feed the homeless at the Delores Project. Miss Bobbie was an extremely giving person who touched the lives of many people. She enjoyed the Habitat for Humanity Project, even though she had trouble with a hammer and nails!!! To know her was to love her!

Mrs. Bobbie Ray Osborne was preceded in death by her son, David Allen Beal; her parents, Murphy and Luberta Ray; her brothers, Joe M. Ray and James W. Ray. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved, husband Garland A. Osborne; daughters, Stephanie and DeAnna Osborne both of Aurora, CO and Anita Osborne of San Leandro, CA; grandsons, Jeffrey Allen Beal, Jaxson Allen Beal both of Denver, CO, Michael Romero, Aurora, CO and Joshua (Cynthia) Dickerson, Lakewood, CO; brothers, Jimmie E. (Melba) Ray, Waxahachie, TX, Kenneth E. (Mary) Ray, Bossier City, LA; the Peaceful Rest Baptist Church Family, a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
