Obituary for Annie B. Stewart

Annie Beatrice Stewart was born on December 12, 1915 in Lena, MS to Bobbie Ealy and James Morgan. She was baptized at the early age of 8 years old at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Lena, MS. When Annie was young she loved basketball and she enjoyed bingo. Occasionally she would like to bake coconut or pineapple upside down cake. Annie met her life partner, Otis Stewart, in her youth and they married on August 7, 1938. She was a homemaker during these years as they traveled the world. After Annie's husband retired from the Air Force in 1962 they made Denver their home. She was determined to get her high school diploma and she obtained it from Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, CO. Annie was a supervisor of housekeeping at Colorado Mental Health at Ft. Logan. Annie and her husband were instrumental in rearing their niece, Mildred Pearson after the death of her mother. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for many years. Annie was very active in her church and was a member of the Ruth Missionary Circle. Annie served as president of Auxiliary Retires of TREA for two years. The Stewarts were longtime residence of the Park Hill neighborhood. Annie departed this life on June 22, 2017, in Denver, CO.
